I have to admit I don't pay as much attention to this subject as I should (I'm in the "we are totally ####ed" camp which I admit is lazy), but these "carbon-neutral by xxxx" promises just seem like the latest strain of "say something, do nothing" politician bullshit that they always come out with. You know a lot about this subject so do you think anything will come out of this summit that is different to the usual? They all seem to acknowledge the growing urgency but I don't really see any of them calling for revolutionary actions. I'm sure the ultra-rich and their purchased politicians think that the coming climate collapse will be fine for them. A load of the poors are going to die but "we'll" survive in our bunkers or New Zealand cliff top Bond lairs. It's insane but I'm sure some of them think it won't touch them.
