    Today a Pentagon spokesman surprised the press by announcing for the first time that the US military routinely targets and murders civilians.

    'Mainly it's when third parties are examining our failure against a guerilla army. Obviously we need to show that victory against us is not worth the price so we will need to kill massive numbers of civilians to demonstrate our criminal psychopathy.

    Sometimes it is more a response to local problem, for example our troop's morale is suffering due to being picked off by a stealthy enemy. Strafing a village with an A10 gunship can provide a temporary cartharsis and may stave off a mutiny.

    From time to time we need to conduct a psychological operation on the homefront, maybe push a problematic news story from the cycle. We will often go for civilians as we have found that narrative management can actually be easier with no hostiles present. Sometimes its just that no suitable hostile targets are presenting themselves at the key moment.'

    In response the assembled press admitted that they routinely cover up US war crimes.
