"Nothing else is or ever will be sufficient to deal with or reverse the existential threat of global warming other than a revolutionary change in the way we do business, organise our societies and come to terms with our true place in nature. The Emissions Reduction Plan discussion document (ERPDD) in this regard is a testament to so many decent and clever people contributing their very best but doing so in a system which they cannot even think to question; as such this is a total failure of imagination and understanding, and dooms us and our children to an increasingly fraught and frightening future”. Right on (and nice to see you back here). Given how difficult that is, it's maybe just saying 'we'll achieve net-fcuked by 2050' like the juice media vid said. As the fisher cliche goes 'Easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism'. But then something's only hegemonic until it isn't - revolutionary change always seems a long way off until it happens I guess. And another cliche, first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then they co-opt you and greenwash you, then you lose while being told you've won (oh I think I got a step wrong there). This conundrum will come to a head given enough time, it's just to be hoped that some sort of eco-fascism doesn't end up being the 'solution' when a billion migrants turn up in the north - though its it's this or eco-socialism, we know which the elites will prefer.
