This is quite a good vid (I probably posted it before). It emphasises an important point about the precursors of Nazi Germany in its colonial projects in Africa - including using the terms Anschluss and even 'final solution' (referring to genocide of the Herero people) - long before hitler came along (many of the people involved in that went on to be prominent in the nazis); Going against the common mythology that makes it all about evil hitler as a person, rather than just reflecting common colonial attitudes, albeit applied back in Europe for a change (well, Ireland had a good taste of this too I suppose) |
