Thank you for considering them. "My own view of Fauci, that he is a long-term point man for big pharma was formed more through his own words than 7 degrees of separation" I have the same sort of view of him (as much as I know of him) - not going to get a job like that without being approved by the medical-industrial complex (or whatever) - same as eg Patrick vallance here (ex GSK). or Simon Stevens (ex united health I think). I take people like that's words with a pinch of salt always - but I can still look at the science overall without trusting them necessarily. The Kevin bacon aspect I meant was when people use that 'small world network' thing common in things like business and rich people to draw tenuous lines from one thing to another, often via several intermediaries, and call it proof on its own - of course links like this can be suggestive but it usually needs more than just that to say something substantial - posh and connected people went to the same schools/unis and hang out in the same sorts of clubs/lodges/golf clubs/whatever so you can draw all sorts of lines that don't mean much (except the usual background class allegiance) (just like people who like certain niche music or drugs can end up knowing people over a wide area (not that I know anything about that))
