@Marknadim - chime away, I don't understand their criteria either! I'm working on what appears to be Ofcom's premise that any harsh criticism of one side in the 'major political controversy' needs to be balanced with a statement from the opposing side in order to be considered 'due impartiality'. Though they then have pretty subjective grounds for what kind of counter-statement is acceptable, and one gets the impression that what they really want is for the harsh criticism of Ukraine/the West not to be made at all. They don't seem to be at all interested in whether a statement is true, or backed up by enough evidence to be incontrovertible - which makes this challenge easier, as you just have to show the BBC making a heavy criticism of Russia with no balancing statements to meet the criteria (something they do on the regular, it seems). Read the 'Decision' section on the Donbass documentary for a sense of how Ofcom approached this: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0019/241723/RT-News-RT-various-dates-and-times.pdf from p.239 @Keith - yes, I followed Stuart's work with interest, though I don't know if it came to anything in the sense of the BBC facing any consequences. That and other examples are why I'm not sure it's worth the bother of submitting it to BBC complaints, but it would be good to spread it on social media if poss. I expect RT would consider publishing it but I'm wary of sending it to them directly because of the inevitable accusations of being a Russian troll etc. Fine if they want to re-post it from somewhere else. I might just put it up on my blog to bump up the readership a bit from the current 0 views per week @Tomski - yes, I'd be interested to see that too, will let you know if it comes up! Back to work... cheers, I
