From social media: Ever feel manipulated? The unquestionably billionaire-serving almost identical policies of Tory leader options of 0.2% of the UK fill the headlines we see daily for months on end. When there was a real challenger to the billionaire-serving unequal, planet-burning, war/arms dependent insanity we live under from 2015-19, in the form of a costed Green, antiwar, far more equal and caring for the vulnerable alternative, the policies got next to zero attention, despite being hugely popular, especially with the young. Instead, the alleged 'institutional antisemitism' of 0.06% of that party - so that's 0.0004 % of the population - dominated headlines endlessly. These are what establishment media, both billionaire-owned media and state media appointed by our billionaire-serving government, have chosen to prioritise to us, across the board from Sun to Guardian, Mail to BBC. Of course. We're consumers of what they're selling - conformity to an insane self-harming system. So in a world where information is systematically filtered and packaged by (employees of) the tiny billionaire few, that is obviously and inevitably what we get. Our only solution to destruction of our one and only home planet, endless and increasing war and gross inequality is a media revolution where wealth and power are kept the hell away from information provision. Until then, we'll be stuffed with 'information' that keeps the 'status quo' safe. |
