The Royal Standard is never flown at half-mast even after the death of a monarch, as there is always a Sovereign on the throne and it would therefore be inappropriate for it to fly at half-mast. The Union Flag will be flown at half mast on all Royal Residences.

Hope you're paying attention at the back there, plebs.

I accidentally caught some BBC "news" earlier while I was taking down some serial numbers of equipment and heard some "Chelsea Pensioners who met her (madge)..." and then this geezer babling about "She put the normal people at ease..."

Only ten more days of the full on, twenty-four seven assault and then months of "specials" and commemorative restrospectives. I don't watch TV as a rule so I should avoid most of it by default but even incidental exposure is driving me up the wall.

Of course the msm is only reporting the forelock tugging bowing and scraping but I expected more of a "Oh Dear, very sad, never mind, let's end this nonsense now". I see they are heading all that off with instant blanket coverage of "Charles III". Totally normal country.
