I'm certainly not Corbyn's biggest fan. However, it's a demonstrable fact that he was subjected to a virtually unprecedented and orchestrated campaign to undermine his leadership of the Labour Party and the 'left' in the country as a whole. That he was temprementally, ideologically, unfit for the role thrust opon him, is another story.

Obvuously he should have come out fighting for his reputation from the very beginning of the campaign against him. The smear that he was some kind of anti-Semitic ghoul risen from the foul pit of racial prejudice. It was a massive strategic mistake not to have set his lawyers on his accusers immediately for libel, especially those comrades' within the Labour Party.

It was important to balance' the crass, false label of 'anti-Semitism' in the public sphere, with the counter-label of... Libel. It would have been more difficult to ignore a libel action insid th Labour Party! At th very least it would have been something, doing something, proactive for a bloody change!

Corbyn would have won his libel case, because thr isn't a shred to support the anti-Semitism accusations. This would also, have put the media on trial as well. Corbyn should have sued journalists and newspapers too, esecially the Guardian.
