'We've seen and will increasingly see similar articles propagandising against international attempts to reduce the scale of the climate catastrophe.' - Yup, and on the other side we'll see people depicted as untermenschen for refusing to give up their jobs in the various fossil fuel sectors (which farming basically is too nowadays) and 'transition' to jobs in the brave new world of renewables (sic) which either don't yet exist or pay half as much with no pension or benefits. I forget who made the point wrt farming but generally I subscribe to the point of view that it's the people who actually work in industries who know how best to render them less destructive or even beneficial (not always possible, eg: the arms industry). The key is relieving the relentless pressures of corporate capitalism to allow them to make better choices and not merely scrabble desperately to make ends meet, forgetting about long term consequences. As the farmer at the end of Food Inc. put it: 'You have to understand that we farmers, we’re gonna deliver to the marketplace what the marketplace demands. If you want to buy $2 milk, you’re gonna get a feedlot in the backyard. It’s that simple. People have got to start demanding good, wholesome food of us. And we’ll deliver. I promise you. We’re very ingenious people. We’ll deliver. That’s all I had to say. ' - https://genius.com/Robert-kenner-food-inc-transcript-annotated
(Though I don't agree that 'vote with your dollars' works in this way, a point the film itself undermines with its depiction of a Mexican immigrant family forced to buy cheap carbs at the supermarket even though the father has diabetes, because fruit & veg is too expensive for them.) cheers, I
