I almost feel sorry for Corbyn. People on the left seemingly adore him. He's nice and principled. He rides a bicycle, wears sandals and has an alotment. All of which are marvelous qualities that a leader of the Labour Party really needs.
Unfortunately he was absolutely the wrong person to be put in charge of Labour at this time, and the idea of him somehow leading the left, fills me with dread.
Politically his entire career was that of a 'mascot' and protected from real scrutiny by a party that tolerated him because of nostalgia, a reminder of how much had changed in the party.
