The baby-brained RAF fairy-story reader is more child-like + irony-free than me aged 4. . Archived Message

Or Greta Thunberg aged circa 3. Proof: I still have a fading poem wot I wrote aged 5 at infants' school - my headmistress was so blown away by it she wrote a gushing little note to my mother predicting that "your son will go far etc". That deadpan, ironic poem - about "a kangaroo trapped in a zoo" became part of our family folklore. But of course stories and poems about animals trapped in zoo's are no fairy tales. No surprise that I later at age 8 - plus one close sister - announced to our mother that we no longer wanted to eat dead animals...including kangaroos of course. If an irony-free uniformed RAF baby-brain had turned up at my infants' school to read us fairy-tales, things could have turned ugly - a caustic 5 yr old heckler might have been sent home early.
