Finally, a tool to block corporate 'news' sites from search engine resultsArchived Message

Works for me in firefox & duckduckgo. Apparently also works in chrome and for google, yahoo, bing, startpage, ecosia, yandex, onesearch and baidu search engines. Search add-ons for 'HOHSER' (or 'Highlight Or Hide Search Engine Results'). After installation it allows you to scroll through search results and click on each one to hide or highlight:
Took me about 5 mins going down through all the results of a search for 'ukraine' to compile my blacklist of most corporate news outlets, after which results were blissfully free of all their lying BS and sites I'd never even heard of started to appear. A test search for 'assange' brought up a load of decent analysis that you'd usually have to scroll down for ages to get to.
Seems relatively easy to temporarily disable or un-hide particular sites if you've made a mistake. Go to the add-on page, and under the 'extensions' tab click 'options' on the '...' menu to the right of the hohser extension and that brings up the various settings and the blacklist of sites for you to edit. Would be easier if it installed a button on the menu bar of the browser, but you can't have everything...
Only just start using it so there might be problems that emerge later on, but looks good so far. I've been looking for a tool that does this for ages. Hopefully it's not too good to be true... follow my lowly tech advice at your own risk! It's got 991 users at the moment and mostly 5 start reviews fwiw.
