It's both sad and depressing that the writer, Polk, once was at the heart of power in Wasington and advised US Presidents. Today, he'd be too radical and off-message for the Guardian and the BBC. Like Richard Sakwa from Sussex University. It's like roles have been reversed. Today our neo-con leaders are soaked in dogma and ideology about spreading their 'revolutionary freedom' to the world, and it's the Russians who appear pragmatic and are intent on defending the sovereignty of the nation state from an expanding 'progressive revolutionary movement.' |
