Oh and there's a long line of budding female plumbing apprentices keen for these kinds of job opportunities to get down with the guys... not. To be fair though they are all far too busy studying to be lawyers so they can build that modern gender-fair world, break the horrible old male "glass ceiling" and then take the dirtiest jobs of all (whist still polishing their manicured nails at a desk): as Chief Executive of Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Boeing(Defence) etc...all women. I brought this up in a recent conversation with a female friend who started a rant about the "Patriarchy". It didn't go down well for some reason. Nor did pointing out that Scotland was misrun by a woman, whose policy advisors were nearly all women and whose gender-equal cabinet was stuffed with nonentities who were in that position not through talent but merely because of the apparent virtue in being female. Accused of maliciousness and asked to provide an example they was some chagrin when I pointed out that one of the Scottish governments "Education Ministers" was so well educated herself that she used to ask me what my "big words" meant. What took me aback at the time was that I wasn't actually using anything other than normal conversational English.
