That's excellent, Ras. Thanks a lot. Had some already but there's a few I'd missed.
Been working my way through one that isn't in the collection: David R. Marples (editor) - The War in Ukraine's Donbas_ Origins, Contexts, and the Future (2022, Central European University Press). So far, blatant anti-Russia, anti-Putin, anti-Donbas western propaganda. Talks a lot about Russian propaganda. Had hoped what with it being a collection from different authors I might find something interesting but the editor seems to have carefully selected them all to reflect his own viewpoint.
I had expected the chapter on "Russian Private Military Contractors in the Donbas" to be of some interest but he stretched my tolerance early on by quoting, with approval, Zbigniew Brzezinski, “Without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be a Eurasian empire.” And from there swiftly moving to suggest Russia fomented the whole debacle in the Donbas.
And then there's his assertion that "unlike Russian private military contractors, Western PMCs are solely concerned with rendering consultative and training functions" in Ukraine.
No doubt next he'll be telling me that Western mercenaries, having a high moral code, work for free. And use blanks rather than live ammunition lest they hurt anybody.
