Generally it seems the wider public have swallowed the blue pill of bullsh1t when it comes to all things European Union and Ukraine. Such subservience to the state narrative was evident during the pandemic too. I'm going on the lack of kickback on social media to the blizzard of lies and the fear of even 'alternative' voices to seriously question what's happening, although there are chinks of light in the form of Clare Daly and Mick Wallace in the European Parliament who offer fearless criticism of NATO and pro-war imperialism. Of course, they're either ignored or ridiculed in the corporate media. 'Left-wing' Sinn Féin are unsurprisingly quiet about all this. They prefer the safer ground of the housing crises to fight the neo-liberal parties in power (a coalition of Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the fake Greens) and that has been the main issue recently. Of course PR is better than first past the post but as Ireland shows it's no solution to our current crises.
