What I find rather amusing is the BBC getting their Marks and Sparks undies into an uncomfortable twist because Musk has labeled them as 'state funded' when the BBC thinks of themselves as 'independent' 'unbiased' and definitely not under government control. The BBC is publically financed through the license fee, they argue. This is, of course, splitting hairs as the government sets the license fee, choses the BBC's leadership, and has enormous influence over the BBC, especially in wartime. That's before one gets to the BBC World Service, which is funded by the UK government through the Foreign Office.
