I was at Wijk an Zee to see him play in the big tourney there in 2000 when I lived in the Dam. You are kept back from the boards somewhat but you could still feel that aura from him as he marched around the stage inspecting other people's games while he waited for his opponent's to make their next, usually losing, move. Politically I don't agree with him but an almost supernaturally fantastic chess player.
