Control what people are allowed to know and you can control how they feel about the world and what's happening. Pardoxically, at the same time the public's trust in the media and the reputation of journalism, has collapsed. But opposition, criticism has been systematically removed from the media, at the same time as questioning foreign policy is out of bounds. The gap, or chasm, between how the public see the world and how the media/political class present it, is growing.
