Looks to be just a reiteration of one the old contradictions of capitalism.
Capitalism requires you cut jobs (through automation & offshoring) & workers wages because that's how you become more "efficient" & "economic".
But if you cut job numbers & workers wages then they cease to be the consumers capitalism also requires therefore...the general economy will tank.
-Most Tories and Capitalists usually refuse to get beyond the first point because the second suggests that a more equitable distribution of wealth is actually good for capitalism...and that's well, heretical.
