Re: Cook: Daniel Ellsberg is lauded in death by the same media that lets Assange rot in jail Archived Message Posted by Raskolnikov on June 21, 2023, 5:53 pm, in reply to "Cook: Daniel Ellsberg is lauded in death by the same media that lets Assange rot in jail" Lee Camp had a recent segment (I can't find the exact link at the moment so won't post in case it isn't the right one) where some cable news show (CNN/MSNBC type of network) mentioned Ellsberg passing and the clip they chose to illustrate his life was him being interviewed after the Pentagon Papers leak and some douchebag asking him "So after all this do you think people have lost faith in the institutions of government?" and he replies that "No, I think government is working better than ever" and then it cuts. Astonishing. I think Cook is about the best dissident journalist out there at the moment. He consistently puts out long, information heavy, biting pieces on a wide range of subjects.
