"Because it doesn't involve pointing the finger at ordinary people - the complicit masses - let alone condemning them(yourself) for their "who gives a rat's" attitude to their own addiction to or love affair with gasoline and Infernal Combustion."

Love affair? Theres hardly been time for one considering that when I was young the majority of working class families didn't even own a car. In fact my old man never even had a driving licence.
If you provide an economic alternative to car transport the "masses" will use it. Why? because car ownership like everything else is increasingly expensive and the poor have no room for profligate spending. If they can get to work efficiently and cheaply without a car thats what they will do.

Yet year on year public transport services are diminished and more expensive at the same time. The Covid lockdown killed half the buses that went anywhere near my rural patch: they never came back. UK trains are the most expensive in Europe. Is it the poor that do that? No its the domain of those financially comfortable politicians who couldn't even spell "Public Transport" never mind ever use it.

The rich burn huge amounts of fuel heating overlarge homes, running overlarge cars and going on fuel guzzling world flights and cruises for recreation: its not the poor that do this. Why ? because burning fuel is a rich mans game: your billionaire rocketeers are merely the apex of a mountain of wealthy conspicuous consumers.

The poor? well they get shoddy houses and fuel poverty instead: 6.7 million UK households in England so far.

Its interesting that you as an individual always sing with that choir of wealthy politicians who chose to blame the poor for the consequences of their political policies.
