Thunberg has also been elevated by the same kind of forces, notably, the Swedish media and especially the BBC, who love her. Her 'innocence' and childlike qualities, mean that views and utterances have a special kind of quality, truthfulness and purity, that the same speech by another adult, wouldn't have. Once again it's an appeal to the heart, rather than the brain, which is the essence of propaganda. That she's now moving without opposition or criticism, or scrutiny, into the murky world of international relations and war, is, rather disturbing, as she appears to know and understand even less about these complex areas than she does about economics and the environment.
