What relationship does neo-idealism bear to neo-liberalism? I suppose the most obvious is that these descriptions are self-referential oxymorons, there's very little liberal about neo-liberalism, and likely very little idealism about neo-idealism.

In which case, to believe in an oxymoron shows a serious rational ambivalence, , a form of double think, or perhaps cognitive dissonance, which contains the seeds of its own destruction. As neo-liberalism fails, adherents then are perfectly able to construct a rationalisation as to why this is the case, and never need to examine the fundamental problems and incoherences of these philosophies. The same will undoubtedly apply to "neo-idealism"

So here we go - a new moral political movement that accepts and promotes the use of force to further itself, spearheaded by these "moral" people.

Volodomir Zelensky, a second rate comic actor most renowned for pretending to play a piano with his penis and political puppet whose presidency was purchased for him on the behest of the US. A man who single handedly has done more to destroy his own country than any other, spouting words conjured up for him by some Hollywood script writing hack looking for gainful employment.

Artis Pabriks deputy PM of Latvia, who has asked “Are we paying lip service to values and liberal democracy, or do we mean it?… We are ready to die for freedom. Are you?” I mean, have Sunak or Starmer passed that by their electorale yet?

Sanna Marin, now no longer leader of Finland, but who has brought her country nothing but expense and trouble by joining NATO

Ursula von der Leyen - bellicose EU president - of a union that has no army nor any remit whatsoever to play geopolitical games like she wants it to.

Annalena Baerbock - whose war mongering and admission that the west is fighting a proxy war in Ukraine (again, how many citizens in Germany or Europe have been asked about this?) demonstrating a disgraceful and utter disregard for what should be moral Green and pacifist philosophy.

President Biden, a corrupt and morally negligent bully , just one fall away from admission to a rest home.

It goes on. And on. There may even be some merit in his thinking, I mean who could seriously object to a moral, informed and cooperative way of conducting national and international affairs? But when he tries to describe his principles, he comes out hardly better than any mediaeval crusader on his way to Jerusalem, and he invokes a leadership of serious moral and rational inadequacy.

All I can say is this old saw: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"
