"Slava Ukraine" translates in my book as "I too am a moron." Slava: "Glory"... Only a fool wishes "glory" for a country...as though slaughter on a battlefield either way could be ever be " glorious". The thinking is redolent of the "Charge of the Light Brigade" delusional lunacy we know so well in this country: "When can their glory fade? O the wild charge they made!" etc. If it had been "Prosperity" for Ukraine or "Peace" for Ukraine then fine, but the overt militaristic jingoism of "Slava Ukraine" should have raised hackles from the start in those who know better. |
