Israel is a state that in many ways resembles the ancient Gree warrior state of Sparta, where militarism was at the heart of the state. Hamas and Hezbollah have adopted many of the military characteristics of Sparta too. Young boys recieving military and ideological training from older boys and being mentored by mature fighters and dedicating themselves to justice for their people and ready, eager, to give their lives if necessary in the service of an existential conflict with an enemy, Israel, that's determined to wipe them off the map as a people and culture, or turn them into passive and beaten slaves. |
