Do... two wrongs make a right? This very simplified phrase, is never brought up when a BBC journalist interviews an Israeli. The BBC employs a whole other level of 'respect' when talking to Israelis.

Nethanyahu, who was labeled a 'fascist' by hundreds of thousands of Israelis just a couple of months ago over the radical changes to the balance of judicial power inside the state apparatus, the weakening of the independence of the Supreme Court; is suddenly a completely different leader, apparently. No longer a 'fascist' but the guardian of the nation and its values, someone one can trust to protect Israel and negotiate to release prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza. So, Nathanyahu goes from being a corrupt fascist, to a humanitarian statesman, in the blink of an eye.

Given the complex relationship between the BBC and the British State, not least financial, it's unthinkable and impossible for the BBC to adopt a stance on the fighting in Gaza that challenges the policy of the Downing Street or Washington. Has the BBC ever done this? Can anyone find an example where the BBC has offered a radically different perspective, or even opposed, one of Britain's many military campaigns or wars, over the last one hundred years, at the time they were being pursued?
