I tripped up over the same sentence, t. Which unpleasant friends ? What peculiar ideas? And calling Corbyn "a hack" is just not relevant or meaningful. A hack is someone who does a job by deceit and not honestly -- which is why we call most journalists hacks because they cynically pretend to care about the truth and honest reporting while all the time they know it's a lie and they're pushing a line they're well paid to peddle. That's the diametric opposite of what Corbyn was (is). He actually and truly believed what he was saying, was honest to a fault, and that was his undoing. Plus so naive and politically inept, despite all those years as an MP, that he thought he could mollify the zionists and creatures like Hodge and Mann by indulging them and throwing his real friends under a bus. So yes he was culpable and made a right balls of everything, no question of that, but calling him a hack is simply incorrect.
