Thanks Ian for the emphasis in bold. You are being kind saying it's a dog's breakfast : ). Couple of things that really stand out for me: Iran, like its ally Russia, no longer acts like a rational calculator in the game of deterrence. Both understand that their long-term objectives are best advanced through chaos. It's uncanny how he projects. I refer you to Pepe Escobar's book 'Empire of Chaos'. The second reference that comes to mind is 'United States of Amnesia' by Vidal. They work well in tandem to illustrate my point. If the West wants to send combat aircraft anywhere in response to what just happened, it should send them into the skies over Ukraine, alongside the delivery of multiple Patriot missile batteries, declaring a defensive no-fly zone to end Putin’s attacks on civilians and civil infrastructure. Absolutely zero awareness about the logistics in what he is saying. Patriot missile batteries .. a couple of them left around Kiev. Perhaps a couple around Lvov. That's it. F16s, from where will they fly?, if I am kind (eyes roll). No runways in Ukr. Meanwhile NATO has run out of Patriots and shan't be depleting their arsenal/s to bare bones for the Zelensky regime .. $61 billion or not. Clearly. Agree Mason is a nutter. Unbelievable he is given a platform anywhere, at all. |
