As well as paying off some "bad people" who were keeping him locked up in a London flat (he had to borrow £6500 from a Tory supporter who was then reimbursed from Tory funds) he also used £14,000 of local Tory donations to pay medical bills -- and this was 10 years ago! How he ever managed to get re-elected to Fylde is a total mystery. But then he's a Tory ....
