You haven't heard the conspiracy of "the Jews run the banks and the media"? Pretty standard antisemitic trope, reluctant as I am to use that phrase given how often it has been weaponised in bad faith against leftists. My view is that family dynasties, made up or real, Jewish or gentile are largely irrelevant because money, capitalism and empire follow their own logic and aren't fussy about who gets used to advance the essential goal of plundering resources and centralising wealth and control to the maximum possible degree. Same with zionism: the ptb don't give a sh!t about the ideology, it's just a useful pretext for maintaining regional dominance in the oil rich middle east. Same with the media: they're just providing cover and deniability for the empire like they always do, but it's more a case of submitting to market forces than masters cracking whips over their underlings. This quote from Manufacturing Consent springs to mind:
'Institutional critiques such as we present in this book are commonly dismissed by establishment commentators as “conspiracy theories”, but this is merely an evasion. We do not use any kind of “conspiracy” hypothesis to explain mass-media performance. In fact, our treatment is much closer to a “free market” analysis, with the results largely an outcome of the workings of market forces. Most biased choices in media arise form the preselection of right-thinking people, internalized preconceptions, and the adaptation of personnel to the constraints of ownership, organization, market, and political power. Censorship is largely self-censorship, by reporters and commentators who adjust to the realities of source and media organizational requirements, and by people at higher levels within media organizations who are chosen to implement, and have usually internalized, the constraints imposed by proprietary and other market and governmental centers of power.
