| In an old book of his "Fabulous Animals he cites the oft used technique of grafting a single horn on to the pituitary gland of a an Elk....Have you ever seen them? Big reindeer with a single horn protruding from the middle of the forehead? Apparently the grafting increases testosterone creating "herd-leaders" of great strength & size, also interestingly it has been discovered that many whale species show ancient deer DNA! Now the narwhals "horn" is dentin not keratin, nevertheless, no-one has so far tried to graft one (a"juvenile" specimen), to a horse. Further too it is also know that exceptionally large lions populated the N.American continent (as did horses) during man's earlier history...might the issue of the large predators on the N.American continent have prompted the shaman (who already knew of the technique) to experiment? "The Lion and the Unicorn"? Hah! |
