Pretty long-winded and no new information, but I suppose we should be grateful that the NYT is publishing this, and that a zionist historian is explicitly referring to israel as genocidal.

I raised an eyebrow at the conclusion:

'an Israel liberated from the overwhelming burden of the Holocaust may finally come to terms with the inescapable need for its seven million Jewish citizens to share the land with the seven million Palestinians living in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank in peace, equality and dignity. That will be the only just reckoning.'

I fail to see the justice in allowing a settler-colonialist population to continue to occupy somebody else's land, especially after the vast majority of them supported this latest attempt to displace or exterminate the indigenous population. I think it would be more just to expel them unless they can prove that they actively opposed the genocide. They can be obliged to track down the families who lived in the houses or land they own, offer it to their descendants free of charge along with, say, 50% of their assets to help them get on their feet and then GTFO to any country that will have them. You don't get to perpetrate a crime like this and then just carry on as normal like nothing happened. Not if we're talking about justice anyway... (obviously this happens all the time in this sick culture)
