It seems that Trump really wants to get out of the Ukrain war because he is the only western leader with brains enough(yes) to see that Russia cannot lose this war. So he wants to convert if from a proxy US war into a proxy EU war. Kargarov is a leading academic bureucrat who may have no influence over the Kremlin but may know what it is thinking. Many of us had the idea that Russia was steadily winning the war on the ground; the collapse of the Ukrainian army being only months away. So why threaten nuclear escalation? Sabre rattling? But some of us took Russian warnings preceding the SMO as mere sabre rattling, not to be used an excuse to go on poking of the bear. Of course those who actually poked the bear would only have been encouraged to poke the more by the thought it was mere sabre rattling. Any response by them to this our escalated response will trigger nuclear retaliation by us. So Conventional war heads will be answered by nuclear warheads? The Western MSM bimbos’ implied narrative is that the Russias SMO was quite unprovoked. No need to argue that it was an unjustified reaction, because it was not a reaction at all. Nato is a benign and defensive organisation. Ukraine can very soon win the war on the battlefield and liberate Crimea - if only we supply Kiev with a few billions of extra weaponry. The Russia economy will soon collapse -if only we apply more sanctions. I don t think any UK academic would explicitly argue that case in a learned journal but that is what the public has been led think .
