He was definitely trying something different there. You are definitely not missing anything with the rest of his recent output. Everyone has to make up their own mind but I was trying to save people wasting time on this latest lemon. It was quite funny watching it plummet on IMDB. It had no theatre release so it was sitting on 7.9 and then it went to netflix and within the first day it had gone to 5.9 which, after you adjust it for IMDB inflation, is about a 4. He wants to be the American Ken Loach or Mike Leigh but he can't hold a candle to either of them.
