element to it, there are also some stalwarts like Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo in there who have been speaking out against the genocide from day one (and the apartheid state before that). I guess it depends what they mean by "Israeli film institutions". In any event, it's exactly the kind of boycott action that started, and kept, the ball rolling in the fight against apartheid south africa. A sport boycott would be good but it's not going to be as effective against the genocidal entity as it was against South Africa as sport was this enormous deal to the saffers and being kept out of the rugby and cricket was a massive thorn in their side. It's another sign that even though they are being allowed to continue their slaughter and ethnic cleanising without any serious resistance from the Western power elite, the people are seeing this. We will remember and, hopefully, we will demand accountability when the real scale of this horror becomes clear. Unfotunately, I still think it's going to be worse than even the bleakest estimates but as long as the usual "out of the news cycle, out of mind" forgetting doesn't happen this time, there will be a reckoning.
