Sadly I think it's just greed. "They" sort of me-too'd him a while back with the old Russia days stuff, so other than kids I can't think of any kompromat that would cause him to toe the line so meekly. His excuses are so patently full of shit. Also Keaton's "tequila worm in Chernobyl grows into a man" line for Kern was perfect
