The Koreans (whose cinema I love; at its best it's as good as anything) try this quite often and generally fail (their comedy is usually too broad and the change in tone too jarring) but Mr Inbetween managed to be laugh out loud funny, poignant, moving, profound, scary, thrilling and a lot of the time all within the same episode. I'd meant to watch it for a while but kept putting it off and now I'm pissed off I binged it all quickly. Really good series.
