I didn't mean problems with understanding the translations, just that something is lost when translating a piece of literature. Not saying it stops the enjoyment of a translated text or even a serious impediment to engaging with the intentions and themes of the author. Reminds me of the old joke about the guy watching a subtitled Japanese version of "Macbeth" where “So fair and foul a day I have not seen”, becomes "Isn’t the weather really awful today”!
