This Sick, Sick Land by The Editor

Switching on my television set at random, I found myself gazing at the close-up of what I took to be a young woman abundantly endowed with tresses. "Not my idea of feminine charm," I thought, "but no doubt others would consider her a very beautiful girl." Then came the revelation that the face enshrined within masses of locks belonged, not to any beauty-queen, but to the god-like Mr Mick Jagger, whose prosecution for possessing drugs has given the national press of our sick country its biggest journalistic orgasm of the summer. |
That the menace of drug-taking is real enough cannot be denied and I will discuss it later in this article. First, however, I would draw attention to some extraordinary features of the case brought against this Mr Mick Jagger. Drinymal is a pep tablet which has been medical prescribed for hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of us from time to time to ease us over periods of prolonged tension or over-work. It is addictive only in the sense that to the weak-willed any drug, not excluding aspirin, can become a drug of addiction.
