I only came in for a minute fraction of the harassment and intimidation that the camp was subjected to. Phoenix Media's reports detail some of the idiocies. |
The cops claimed there was a wedding (reception?) and asked folk to clear the entrance. To my surprise, the samba band moved off but two women protesters stayed (images 63 and 64). The young lady said she wanted to see proof - flowers, bride's dress, the bridegroom etc...
Bizarre scheduling, but it turned out there WAS such an event. One of the other protesters said he'd met the organisers, so would have a word with her.
The cops moved in en masse to clear everyone out. I kept getting pushed by one in particular, so kept leaning back. He said I was one of "them". What a compliment!
Grumble: I can pull out a lot more detail from blown out areas of the photos, but my RAW software keeps turning those areas pink.
