A woman rang in to disagree - "Kill one and you get life in prison; kill a million and you get a knighthood". Good for her.
Yesterday, O'Brien was trying to defend JK Rowling on charges of anti-semitism by Jon Stewart. Both are "heroes" of O'Brien. He came down on the side of Rowling. Naturally enough.
Half the effort O'Brien put in would have also exonerated Corbyn. But he hates Corbyn so that's not going to happen anytime soon. Oh, yeah, and "I will not be taking calls on Emma Watson either"!
Re: But James O'Brien of LBC says Blair believed what he was doing was right
I listened to a fair chunk of this and nowhere did he mention that Alistair Campbell had worked his bollocks off to invent and fabricate "evidence" to show that SH had weapons of mass destruction -- some of it lifted straight off the internet.
I also didn't hear him say that weapons inspectors had spent months looking for WMD and hadn't been able to find any. So O'Brien is doing exactly what Blair did -- ignoring the evidence he doesn't like and believing the evidence his own press secretary has concocted. Blair only "believed he was right" in the sense that he believed something first and then had to find the dodgy "evidence" to back it up. O'Brien is so wrong-headed about this that it's hard to take him seriously about anything.Report -- May 2022: It will cost the UK taxpayer £132bn to decommission all the UK’s civil nuclear sites and the work will not be completed for another 120 years, according to latest estimates.
So Blair must,er, have thought Powell was lying in Feb 2001 with his "no significant WMD capability"
Colin Powell, Cairo press conference, February 2001(sssh!):
"[Saddam]...he has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction" :
This deeply buried Youtube video has always been very difficult to find without very cunning use of search keywords.
And of course most kitten and talk-show etc videos obviously clock up approximately a gazillion more views per annum than this triflingly unimportant little "Saddam has no significant WMD capability" clip.
It's also disappointing that noone has posted up a better quality(higher resolution) version of what is without doubt one of the most scandalously and disastrously suppressed, very rarely mentioned truth-exposing videos in the history of video, lies, cover-ups, illegal wars and war-crimes.
Note that Youtube was not founded until 2005 and the video clip was only initially posted up publicly thanks to my success in persuading InformationClearingHouse to host it in late 2003.
Mysteriously the clip vanished from the InformationClearingHouse website a few months later: when I contacted them to ask why it had vanished they were puzzled and told me they weren't aware that it had disappeared.
They promptly re-uploaded a copy - and not long after announced that their site would be briefly shut down for a security overhaul.
So Blair must,er, have thought Powell was lying in Feb 2001 with his "no significant WMD capability"
