There were about 50 people. Of the folk I chatted to, there was agreement that Russia was liberating the Donbass from the Ukrainian aggressors, with an ex-British army chap stating that it was NOT an invasion.

He has a better analysis of the situation than some who may be well read.

I've also found that the people who are involved with Julian Assange events are well genned-up on issues such as Palestine, Syria, Libya etc. I think it's because the liberal-pseudo-left groups aren't involved.

One group that usually supports Assange events is the Inminds group. Inminds is one of the main supporters of the Al-Quds rally. A date for everyone's diary: 24 April

Would have liked to say hello. It was quite an inspiring event, despite the grim anniversary and MPs being away on their Easter recess.

Living far from London I all too rarely get to protests in support of Julian, but if I'm in town do try to get to the weekly demo outside Belmarsh, which seems especially important. Have rarely met such a fine and determined group of people as those who are out in all weathers to voice their anger at this gross injustice.

I believe there's an event in Brussels next week in solidarity with Julian, but like (the many) other vigils in Europe and beyond it's unlikely to be deemed newsworthy enough for us to hear anything much about it. Death by silence, and omission, if we're not careful.
