OK - it was in 2008. And in most ways the status quo is even more diabolically elitist-driven and Pentagon-ruled than it was in 2008. So Princeton grads and their global equivalents kinda half-disobeyed Colbert's pleas..

PS. compare the ultra-low view-count("130") that this buried, truth-exposing clip has (ostensibly) garnered in fourteen bl**dy years compared to the million++ per month hits his mainstreamed Youtube clips regularly accrue(ostensibly).

I'm guessing that the clip will continue to show just 130 views even if every single Lifeboater were to click on it, watch it twice a day and forward the link to all their friends and foes worldwide including downunder. Put it to the test.

This is when he was at the height of his Conservative "character" so it's not really a gotcha; he's speaking as that character.

Sure, you can argue that given his massive downfall (in comedic/progressive terms) he probably now thinks the same way the character he was mocking then, but the idea this low-res snippet has only been viewed 180 because of some conspiracy is nonsense. Type "stephen colbert princeton 2008" into YT and you get half a dozen videos of this, some with 50k views. So not exactly "Found it" more a case of "Picked the least viewed clip of a commonly available video and made out that it was actually the missing frames of the Zapruder film". And you talk about post being surplus to requirements....

Also, unlike most of the other late night gate-keepers he was once funny and actually satirical. Now he can die in a grease fire.

Yes, ever since he took the hosting gig he's sunk lower and lower. His "drink you in" moment with Obama was one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen.

So after more than 7 years of the Bush Gang, WMD lies and ongoing slaughter and chaos in Iraq and Afghanistan, torture black sites etc..and the world's economy in freefall - Colbert chucklingly urged princely Princetonians to please perpetuate the status quo that was serving him and the affluent-wealthy minority just fine, thanks.
And most Americans would no doubt class Colbert as a liberal and a Democrat.
