Which rather begs the question about what the UN is doing to get a ceasefire, to stop western arms shipments and to progress genuine peace talks.

..while our affluent decision-makers suffer no financial, existential hardship - thx to taxpayers

Politicians and our assorted elite mis-leaders continue to fine-dine in their taxpayer-funded or heavily subsidised parliamentary/HQ waiter-service restaurants.
As always they're totally (financially) insulated against the effects of their wannabe-macho, conforming cowardice and their pride-preserving, career-advancing group-think stubborness. So there's no incentive to be the first to blink.
