No need to read the article, I haven't.
The strap line is enough.

On one hand just about the most ridiculous thing ever written in political journalism. Wes Streeting, career student labour, right wing Blairite, openly contributed to electoral failure through attacks on his own party leader, and alleged arsonist, with no constituency other than in his own mind, should be Labour Leader. Anyone with a political understanding knows that Streeting is a problem not a solution.

On the other, tells you everything you need to know about politics in this country and the manufacturing of consent. Just as Knight of the Realm Sir Keir Steamer was presented as a left wing candidate in his election to Labour Party leader, Wes Streeting is now being groomed for leadership and the press is going to do it's bit. It ain't informed consent with this nonsense.

England is now so right wing that Sir Keir Starmer is considered too left wing to be the leader of the opposition. Hilarious.

Another one you probably don't need to read - he's probably more at home at the FT though. I did hear this quote from it somewhere:

I think these 90s-style neoliberals really do still think they're as popular as Blair was - rather than just popular with a load of journalists who went to the same schools. Aaron Bastani described him as being like a regional supermarket manager, thought that was about right.

That's an invidious comparison. I know a supermarket manager, and he's an honest and decent person.

I think it was more a comment on his skills and aptitudes than his morals (probably still unfair)

Streeting couldn't run a supermarket. He could help to burn it down though.

TBF, unlike some of his colleagues, he does seem to have a basic knowledge of biology which accords with the common sense views of ordinary red wall voters:
