Five-year decline in UK news media trust sees BBC, Times and Telegraph have biggest drops

This is from a couple of weeks ago, so sorry if this has already been mentioned. I found this on Jonathan Cook's Twitter account.
“Overall, the Reuters Institute report this year found that in part due to a decline in trust, nearly half (46%) of all British people often avoid reading the news at all.”
(From one of the interactive graphs at the link) nice to see the fraudian's precipitous decline from 2019 (61% trust) to now (48%) although interestingly the Times and the Torygraph have had the steepest declines. It would be nice to think this is people seeing through the Tory lies but I think it may well be the frothing gammons and associated nutters who think they are not far right enough expressing displeasure with them.
The Daily Fail had a huge drop between 2019 and 2020 (Brexit?) but seems to have levelled out at 23% trust.
Thing is these numbers almost certainly provide a false impression; when people are formally questioned about this kind of thing, they will always say "No, not me guv. I don't believe a word the press say", but in everyday life they will read, absorb and regurgitate the messages thrown at them. I sincerely doubt only 23% of Daily Mail readers trust what they read in it.
Very interesting post though; thanks....no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.
If you look at the letters they print and the btl, their readership is refugee Heil and Excess readers....Clio the cat, ? July 1997 - 1 May 2016 Kira the cat, ? ? 2010 - 3 August 2018 Jasper the Ruffian cat ? ? ? - 4 November 2021
People tend to believe the TV. I reckon they feel they know the liars, sorry, presenters. N
How I wish your headline was true, mark. Not sure the AS smear campaign was "enlightening" even though it was shown to be manufactured, because I've talked to innumerable people who still bring up the "well Corbyn was antisemitic wasn't he?" line. So the smear worked, even though people were "enlightened" and told it was fake. So where do you go from there? It will cost the UK taxpayer £132bn to decommission all the UK’s civil nuclear sites and the work will not be completed for another 120 years, according to latest estimates.
