6pm tomorrow would be the "official" time to break the news according to Operation Batwanger or whatever it's called. I would think she's already died and this is all just protocol.

This is going to be insufferable. I just passed a TV set and heard some BBC reporter going "Here in Windsor, the people think of the queen as just one of their neighbours.." and was thankfully out of earshot before I heard the rest of it.

...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.

Just think -- this might have saved Johnson's bacon had the Queen died just a few weeks earlier. He could have declared a season of national mourning and said that all parliamentary procedures were suspended due to these extraordinary circumstances of grief and desolation. Which might have given him vital breathing space to gerrymander some arcane mechanism to remain in No. 10. Oh how he must be gnashing his teeth and kicking the cat up the arse at such bad timing .....

Nice to see their priorities laid out so clearly. I'm sure that will be a motive for wall-to-wall coverage of this in the msm, to take the bite out of any unrest as a result of the price hikes.
