Had a scroll through his twitter looking for any comment on the Al Jazeera docu. This was all I found: |

Yes, first episode of Al Jazeera’s “The Labour Files” was very one-sided - partly because those accused wouldn’t engage, but it left me feeling very uncomfortable & thinking several Corbyn supporters were treated very unjustly. - https://twitter.com/MichaelLCrick/status/1573388335036657664
This is extremely serious and needs a full and complete response from @BBCPanorama

I had no idea that Josh covered this at the time and he right deserves credit for work which was wrongly ignored.- https://twitter.com/OwenJones84/status/1574110802788818944

This is literally my story/investigation from July 2019. I spent a month investigating this. Basically everyone on the left ignored it because the Canary wasn’t considered cool enough. I even included the same recording. Really pisses me off.

A question that needs to be asked is why it is the foreign media, from the Trojan Horse podcast to this Al Jazeera doc, that is asking these questions about failures happening in plain sight.
For those asking, I condemned the Panorama documentary at the time, as you can see in this thread, and I made the same arguments at the time on TV and radio, and was pilloried for doing so.

Ok, I've watched the @BBCPanorama documentary. I'm someone who thinks Labour needs to do much more on antisemitism, and it really does. Yet this is one of the most tawdry pieces of journalism I have ever seen produced by a broadcaster claiming impartiality. - https://twitter.com/OwenJones84/status/1574433999254175746
Meanwhile there's this:
'This speech from Keir Starmer is... fine, if I'm honest?
It has basic class politics in it - pitching Labour on the side of working people rather than the rich; opposing trickle-down economics; good announcements on a sovereign wealth fund and a publicly owned energy company.' - https://twitter.com/OwenJones84/status/1574757588843073537
Although further down the thread he at least manages to call Starmer 'deceitful' and say he wouldn't that he wouldn't 'trust a single promise he makes'. This is the guff he's putting out in the graun praising Starmer and Neo-Labour:
'Starmer should be confident about entering No 10. It’s what he does next that will define him
The Labour leader has finally hitched himself to some bold policies. But can he be trusted to come good on them?'
All he manages to note about left-wing labour party members is:
'Do not expect the Labour leader’s leftwing critics in the party – who have been ruthlessly marginalised under his leadership – to fall silent.'
Funny that there's no discussion of how they have been 'marginalised' (actually expelled or driven to quit most of them), probably because that would then expose the role certain people played in enabling that marginalisation, eh Owen? I bet he won't watch the AJ documentary, or he does he won't discuss it beyond these token, face-saving mentions because it undermines all the BS stances he has taken on this issue over the years and reveals the whole thing as a charade and an excuse to assassinate Corbyn & the left wing in the PLP. It would either show Jones up as a complete idiot for failing to recognise this, a coward for caving in and endorsing it, or a cynical operator like all the rest of them, playing fast & loose with the truth for his own political gain.
I think I prefer Jess Phillips - at least her ignorant sociopathy is out in the open for all to see every time she opens her mouth. She doesn't pretend to be on our side unlike the sly liberal foxes like Jones, to use Malcolm X's metaphor:
Tell your story; Ask a question; Interpret generously
